Brenda Winkeler

Brenda is the founder and Director of Tampa North Volleyball Club. She is starting this new club using her 30+ years of volleyball experiences. For 11 years she successfully coached Division 1 volleyball. As the Head Coach at Eastern Illinois from 2000 to 2004, she recorded an 82-72 record over five seasons. There she helped revitalize a Panthers program, making the NCAA tournament in 2001 playing Arizona State in the first round. In 2004 the Panthers captured a share of the Ohio Valley Conference title. Brenda left Eastern Illinois when she became the Head Coach at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale Illinois. She spent seven seasons as the head coach at Southern Illinois. During that time she led the Salukis to an 85-89 record, and helped establish a school record RPI of 107 in 2009. She has worked as an assistant coach at two Division II NCAA programs as well as consulting and coaching with USAV Club programs in her local areas of Southern Illinois, Austin, Texas and most recently Tampa, Florida. Brenda was a teacher and Head Coach at every level within the State of Illinois system, including Club, High School, Junior College and Division 1 NCAA programs. Her collegiate coaching experiences have included many honors and successes at both the team and individual level. At the NJCAA level she led the Parkland Cobras to a 1999 NJCAA National Championship. Brenda has either been a coach, consultant or founder with a USAV club team in every area where she has lived. This started with her founding and directing of the Prime Time Volleyball Club in 1995 in Champaign Illinois. She has worked and coached with numerous other clubs ever since. This continued passion has led her to begin the Tampa North Volleyball Club.

Kellie Barreto

Kellie grew up in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and began playing volleyball in the 7th grade at her Jr/Senior High School. She was a five-year varsity player and played all around as a back-row setter and front row right side hitter. Kellie was a four-year captain and one of the all-conference top players. During her time in high school she played year-round by participating in various local camps, tournaments, and intramural/club leagues. After high school, she attended a branch campus of Penn State University for two years to play volleyball. She went on to set a new kill record for her school while helping her team to the final four championship. She was named first team honorable mention and a two-time player of the week. After playing for two years she transferred to Penn State University Park where she finished pursuing her degree in Recreation Management. In addition to her one year of collegiate coaching experience she also brings with her over five years of experience coaching JV/Varsity girls’ volleyball. She recently moved to Florida and is now teaching PE at a local elementary school. 

Hailey Aguilar

Hailey Aguilar comes to Tampa North from the Chicago suburban area where she played for Oswego East High School and the Sports Performance Volleyball Club (SPVB).  In high school she also earned a spot on the USA Volleyball High Performance A1 Red team, winning the gold medal in 2014.

She attended East Tennessee State University where she won the starting Libero position as a freshman and was awarded SoCon Freshman All Conference team, All Tournament at the Clemson Classic and the SoCon Defensive Player of the Week. She continued playing at ETSU all 4 years amassing over 1300 digs and 200 assists and maintained a 4.2 dig/set average as the starting libero.  Her team won the SoCon Conference Championship Tournament in 2017 and played in the NCAA Tournament in 2017 and in 2018, her school was the first mid-major team ever to win an at large bid into the NCAA Tournament. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies (focus on Business) with a minor in Merchandising and Marketing. She also spent 2 club seasons being an Assistant Coach with the KVC club in Tennessee.

Jamiel Maze-Ingram

Coach Jamiel is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up playing softball, basketball, volleyball and running track through her high school days. In college, Jamiel was on the track and field team and later joined her school’s all girl lacrosse team. Since graduating she has coached track and field at the high school level and has coached volleyball in high school, in local community programs and has spent 3 years at Tampa North.

She loves and appreciates all things sports – the athleticism, the discipline and commitment, the excitement and the teamwork.

Chris Taylor

Coach Taylor has over 20 years of experience in coaching volleyball at all levels. He has coached at the high school level all the way through NCAA Division 1.  His 10 years of experience at the collegiate level resulted in over 150 career wins. He has also coached with the Florida High Performance teams for 4 years, from 2010-2016.  Last volleyball season found Coach Taylor as a volunteer assistant with Eckerd College.  

Tayler Pallotta

This is Tayler Pallotta’s third year coaching with Tampa North. She has experience coaching with our U13-U10 teams while continuing to help all ages in our program.  She has experience as an athlete, a coach, and holds a number of certifications within the International Sports Science Association.

As an athlete: from Scranton, PA where she graduated from the University of Scranton in 2013 with a B.S. in Liberal Studies and as a four-year letter winner with the Lady Royals basketball team, while also earning a spot as captain her junior year. Played in 100 games during her career, including 37 starts. Tayler attended Dunmore High School 2005-2009, lettered in basketball, track and volleyball. She poured in more than 1000 points in basketball career, was named first-team-all-Lackawanna League and first-team all-regional by the Scranton Times-Tribune. She was named the most valuable player of the Feldman tournament during the 2006-2007 season and a member of 3 straight Lackawanna League and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District II Championship teams. A key member of a Dunmore team that posted a 3-year overall record of 80-8(.909).

As a Coach: After graduation, she was an Assistant Coach for the Lady Falcons basketball team at Lackawanna College (2014). She then switched to the high school level and was the head JV Coach, Assist Varsity Coach for the girls basketball team at Abington Heights High School (2015-2018). Within those 3 years, she assisted in coaching the girls to 3 straight District II Championships. Tayler has since moved out of the NEPA area but continue to coach both the girls basketball and volleyball within her school where she teaches. She is currently a Physical Education teacher within Hillsborough County. Tayler is ISSA Certified in the following and is planning on obtaining certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist within the year.

Hannah Shreve

Coach Hannah is a proud product of Charleston, West Virginia and became a Tampa transplant in 2020.  She began training as a middle blocker in the 8th grade and continued to play that position through her college career.  In high school, she earned 1st Team All-State honors two times and WV Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior in 2012 – the same year her team won the Class AAA State Championship.  Additionally, her father became an assistant coach at the high school in 2009 and remains there today (helping the school win two more state championships so far).

At the college level, Coach Hannah competed in the Big 12 Conference for West Virginia University where she earned several Big 12 Conference and WVU honors for her performance on and off the court.  She graduated summa cum laude in 2016 and finished her masters in 2017, both in accounting.  Additionally, as a senior, she led the team as a co-captain.  Throughout her college career, she assisted with a variety of camps and private lessons for younger players.

Currently, Coach Hannah works in Risk Management & Compliance for a large public company in Tampa and is a licensed CPA in two states.  Her love of volleyball led her back to coaching in her spare time to help grow the game and develop the next generation of competitors. During the 2021-2022 club season she worked with a U16 team as an assistant.  When out of the office or gym, Hannah enjoys traveling, theme parks, the beach, and visiting her family.

Kayla McCarter

Coach Kayla was a previous player for Tampa North. She played for Coach Brenda during her final season and had her best season in her seven years of Club volleyball. She is currently on her third year of coaching with Tampa North as an assistant to the U14’s and the head coach for the U10’s. She believes “Every person on the team serves a purpose to only make their team stronger. As well as,  a great teammate will not only build themselves up, they will build each other up.”  She was built on the philosophies of “Hard work equals success” and “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”.

She is currently working on her bachelors degree in health sciences and will soon be furthering her education towards a PHD in Physical Therapy. Having just graduated with her Associates degree from Pasco Hernando State College, she is ecstatic to be moving on and becoming a Bull at the University of South Florida (USF).

Coach Kayla has a passion to help and guide anyone who has a drive to play; to help them become the best player they can possibly be. She believes, “with hard work and dedication anybody can do anything as long as they put their mind to it.” She is truly looking forward to the seasons to come.

Tina Allen

Coach Tina played three years of varsity volleyball in high school where she held the third highest career kills and blocks in the history of the school while being a student athlete mentor.  She also played five years of coed volleyball and won five championships. Tina has coached two years at Freedom High School as well as coaching two years of middle school volleyball at Benito Middle School.  Additionally, she has four years of coaching experience with the Club Steel Volleyball Club.

In addition to coaching, Tina has taught two years of high school math and is in her sixth year of teaching middle school math. 

Michelle Davis

Coach Michelle Davis is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a certified group fitness and strength instructor. She has coached volleyball for over the past 10 years and is the current Head Coach at Chamberlain High School. From 2015 – 2018, as the head varsity coach at Wiregrass Ranch High School, she finished with a 50-21 record and was named the 2017 – 2018 Volleyball Coach of the Year for the Sunshine Athletic Conference – East (Pasco County).  She previously coached at Carrollwood Day School, Freedom High School, and most recently, Plant High School where she helped lead the Plant High School Panthers to the FHSAA 8A State Finals. She is currently the Head Coach at Chamberlain High School

 

Macy Bastian

This will be Macy’s first year coaching at Tampa North. She has played volleyball for 8 years and spent her last two club seasons at Tampa North. Macy played her high school and club seasons as a setter, switching between full rotation and back-row setter. She has played every position on the court throughout her high school career. During high school she participated in many different camps, recruiting events, and clubs. 
 
Macy is Head Coach certified through The Art of Coaching Volleyball by Jim Stone. She has coached at TN Youth Academy and Skills & Drills throughout the summer, as well as helping with the 13-2s at AAU Nationals. Outside of volleyball, Macy recently graduated from Riverview High School and has began her studies at HCC to pursue a marketing degree, to where she will transfer to Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers to complete her bachelors.
